The Award about People with People is organised by the Centre for Community Organising for the 5th time already. The intended purpose of this contest is to encourage public administration to involve the public in regional development and to co-operate with the non-profit sector, as well as to make examples of good practice more visible and to reward staff and politicians, who actively support civil society development. What is the procedure of the award? Anybody can submit a selected successful activity. Evaluation of applied project is performed in two rounds. At first, the expert jury evaluates submitted activities on the basis of stated criteria. Selected projects progress into the second round of evaluation, where they are visited by jury members on spot.
The award is currently being held in Visegrad countries. The aim is to spread the award, step by step, to other countries of Europe, especially to Eastern and South-eastern Europe.
The award taught us to communicate with public administration and helped to establish cooperation with public administration. We also found out that the principles of the award are transferable to other countries.
